Oak Sofa Side Table

Our oak sofa side table is handmade from carefully selected solid European oak in our Leicestershire workshop. Its compact design makes it ideal beside a sofa or armchair, while the lower shelf provides useful additional storage or display space

Character & prime oak may sometimes contain small knots and can display a distinct wavey grain. It is a beautiful wood and ideal for making these small side tables, they are smooth to the touch and completely different from a ‘ rustic ‘ pine, which in essence is an imitation of character oak.

The oak used is 1″ thick and kiln dried.
The frames are mortice & tenon joined with a professional spray finished in clear 10% sheen conversion lacquer, resulting in a highly durable, low maintenance finish

Because oak is far denser and heavier than pine, this small handy table with lower storage is very stable considering its narrowness. The top is 19.5 wide and 45 cm long and for good measure it also has 19.5cm wide feet to aid its stability, whilst the rest of the frame and is slim at 14 cm.

Designed for Smaller Spaces

With its slim proportions, this oak sofa side table is ideal where space is limited. Place it beside a sofa or armchair for drinks, books or a table lamp. It also works well as a compact bedside table or occasional table.

The lower shelf provides useful extra storage without making the table feel bulky. Its narrow footprint makes it particularly suitable for smaller living rooms, apartments and cosy spaces.

Each table is individually handmade, so the natural grain, knots and colouring of the oak will vary slightly. These natural variations are part of the character of solid timber and make every table unique.
