The Odin Solid Oak Bench is handcrafted from solid white oak in our Leicestershire workshop. A distinctive tiger-striped finish complements its strong, simple proportions, creating a bold and characterful piece of furniture.

A Distinctive Handcrafted Finish

We create Odin’s striking appearance using a carefully developed finishing process.

First, we resaw the solid oak on the bandsaw, creating fine sawn lines across the timber. We then apply a dark nut-brown stain, which settles into the surface and highlights the texture and character of the oak.

Next, we carefully sand the timber back. This reveals the contrasting tiger-striped pattern while leaving the surface smooth and tactile to the touch. Although Odin has the look of textured, rough-sawn oak, the finished surface feels refined and comfortable.

Finally, we protect the oak with Osmo Polyx Oil, giving the bench a durable finish while enhancing the grain, colour and striped character of the timber.

Handmade from Solid White Oak

Each solid oak bench is individually handcrafted from white oak using traditional woodworking techniques. The substantial construction provides strength and durability, while the simple design allows the distinctive oak finish to remain the focal point.

Therefore, the Odin solid oak bench works beautifully as a hallway bench, dining bench, boot-room seat, bedroom bench or occasional seat.

Every Odin solid oak bench is handcrafted to order in our Leicestershire workshop. In addition, you can choose from the available sizes to find the right fit for your space.

Because solid white oak is a natural material, the grain, knots and colour vary from one piece to another. Our hand-finishing process also creates subtle differences in the tiger-striped pattern. As a result, no two Odin benches will ever be exactly alike.
